ABOUT OUR CRÈCHE Mt Lawley Neighbourhood Learning Centre

Mt Lawley Neighbourhood Learning Centre

Liz

We would just like to thank everyone who helps out in the Centre’s crèche. It is really great to see new (and old) members spending just a couple of hours volunteering to help with the children.

CRÈCHE ROSTERS

The Mount Lawley Neighbourhood Learning Centre has 3 very different types of crèche users:
Course Crèche Users: when our members are attending courses, they are able to have their children looked after by our qualified supervisor, in our beautiful licenced crèche, for the princely sum of $1.50/hr/child.
Occasional Care: when our members need time out for appointments, etc., we are able to offer occasional care for $6.00/hr/child. (See below).
3 Yr Old Play Programme: On Monday and Friday mornings, the crèche offers a structured programme for 3 yr olds, for which we charge $7.50/hr/child.

As of Term 2 2009, the following policy has been adopted in regard to the various crèche users:

  • A compulsory Crèche Levy of $30.00/term will be introduced for each family who use the crèche, (to help with staff costs and crèche consumables), payable on enrolment.
  • “Occasional Care” users and “Course Crèche” users will be required to do one 2 hr “busy bee” session/term in the crèche (day and time at mutual convenience).
  • “Play Programme” mums will still need to do one volunteer crèche roster/term.

OCCASIONAL CARE

Tuesday and Thursday (during school term)… 9.30 am - 12.30 pm = $6/child/hour. Please phone ahead for availability or see Lindsay in the office. Priority will be given to bookings made in advance.

CHATTER FROM THE CRÈCHE

Hi Everyone,

We had a lot of fun last term with our theme of “Growing”. The children planted sunflower seeds and watched them grow with great excitement. Everyone helped to make paper chains for Jack and his Beanstalk and it nearly “grew” around the whole crèche. It was a really busy term and to finish off the year, the Monday Play Program group had a visit from the Big Red Fire Engine with a surprise appearance from Santa. The Friday group had fun with the Balloon Man, and Mrs Santa made a surprise appearance this time.

All the children in the crèche had been busy making Christmas cards and presents for their families and as a special Christmas fundraiser, each child was asked to draw him or herself. All the pictures were printed on a tea-towel, which was bought by each family. Thanks to all families who supported us in this venture (especially the budding artists).

The Learning Centre family is “growing” as well. A special welcome to our new arrivals and their proud parents: Tracey & James with “Ian”, Cheryl & Nick with “Olivia” and Deanne & Neil with “Hugh”. We hope you all had a fun and peaceful season break. A special welcome all new parents and children to our lovely crèche. Can I remind all parents that it is important to sunscreen the children before they come to crèche and each child will need to bring a hat and water bottle (named please). We hope to have an updated crèche information brochure for every parent by the start of term.

Come and join us for a fun based, creative year. We look forward to meeting you all.

Til next term….Liz & Donna.
